Hazelnut Chocolate Spread

Who is not guilty of sneaking some Hazelnut spread straight from the jar?

I saw a post on Facebook showing how much sugar was in a jar of Nutella and it was shocking.

Nutella also contains Palm oil.

So I got to making my own. Only a few ingredients and quick to make.

We all ate it still warm from the thermomix.

Slather it on warm toast.

Recipe in The Basic Cook Book.

Smoothies

I make my kids a Smoothie most mornings.

Freeze fruit that is getting too ripe in the fruit bowl.

Peel bananas, chop and freeze in ziplock bags for ease of use.

You can use whatever fruit you have available.

1 banana
large handful of frozen berries
3 spoons of yoghurt of your choice (plain, coconut)
splodge of honey
100mls of milk for each child

1 min 30 sec, sp9

Quick and easy!

Mango Sticky Rice

When I saw this recipe on Facebook, I knew I had to make it.

I have already mentioned my love for Rice Pudding, but this just takes it to another level!!

This is Tenina's Mango Sticky Rice, recipe here.

There are a few steps to this recipe, but it is a pretty special dish and worth the effort.

Can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge.

Rice Pudding

I LOVE Rice Pudding.
I could eat it every day.
Sometimes I even contemplate buying the canned stuff from the Supermarket (it has that really weird taste). But I always remind myself that I can make it in half an hour and it tastes SO much better.

So, i threw the ingredients into the Thermo, and 30 minutes later I had delicious Rice Pudding for the whole family.

RICE PUDDING
based on Rice Pudding recipe from EDC

200g arborio rice
800g full-cream milk
60g raw sugar

Place all of the ingredients into the Thermomix mixing bowl.
Cook 30min/90C/reverse/speed 1.5
Eat warm or cold.

Bircher Muesli

Bircher Muesli is a great way to start the day.
Not just a treat to have from the buffet table of a fancy hotel whilst on holidays!
I like to make it if I'm having guest over for Brunch.

Lately I've been making it twice a week, because everyone loves it.
I usually make it after dinner and put it in the fridge overnight to soften. Then its ready for breakfast.

Red Chicken Curry

This curry from the EDC is a winner in our house.
Anyone with 3 kids knows it's not easy to find a dish that everyone will eat. But this one is loved by everyone in my family.

I think its restaurant quality too.
Tastes just as good as a good take-away, is cheaper and probably faster to make too.

Use whatever vegetables you have in the fridge. I typically put broccoli and snow peas.
